Scholarship Opportunity: Bridging Life's Gaps and Resources Living Allowance Fund
Bridging Life's Gaps and Resources, a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to enhancing community outreach for the unhoused and supporting other nonprofit initiatives, is excited to offer a scholarship opportunity for older students returning to school or updating their skills before enrolling in college or junior college.
Scholarship Details:

Award Amount: Monthly cost of living allowance up to $1,500

Eligibility: This scholarship is specifically for adults diagnosed with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and other debilitating health conditions, requiring recipients to be recipients of SSI or SSDI benefits.

Application Deadline: January 2, 2025
Scholarship Requirements:

Commitment: Recipients must commit to completing 25 hours of service with Bridging Life's Gaps and Resources. These hours can be fulfilled through a combination of online college-level coursework, remedial course work, and/or direct outreach work.

Use of Funds: The scholarship is intended as a cost of living allowance to help cover expenses such as rent, utilities, and food.

Educational Enrollment: Awardees must be enrolled in college preparatory work, GED program, a junior college, or college-level coursework.

Duration: The scholarship funds must be utilized within one year from the date of award.

Essay Submission: Submit a 500-word essay discussing your motivations for returning to school and how you plan to contribute to community outreach through your studies and volunteer work.

Proof of Enrollment: Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance into an accredited GED program, junior college or college.
